Indianapolis Setlist

Yesterday was the first day of the Made Of Rain Tour at the Vogue in Indianapolis, Indiana, and after seeing some photos people posted from the concert it totally made me wish I was there. But I feel so genuinely happy for The Psychedelic Furs and I hope they had an incredible experience. I bet they were probably feeling so many emotions during the show, especially while they performed the new songs. On the photos the band looked fantastic, and I have to mention Tim Butler's hair was actually all silver! It surprised me seeing his hair like that since I'm more used to it being brown.

Over at Setlist.fm I checked what songs were played for last night's show and the setlist was amazing! The people who attended were very lucky hearing the songs from Made Of Rain. Here is the list of songs:

1. Run And Run
2. Dumb Waiters
3. You'll Be Mine
4. Mr. Jones
5. Wrong Train
6. The Ghost In You
7. The Boy That Invented Rock & Roll
8. No-One
9. Pretty In Pink
10. Don't Believe
11. Love My Way
12. Ash Wednesday
13. Into You Like A Train
14. This'll Never Be Like Love
15. Heaven
16. Heartbreak Beat

Encore:

17. Sister Europe
18. India

Tonight The Furs will play in Chicago and I wonder if the setlist will be the same or if they'll replace one or two songs with one of the others. As for videos, the only video I saw was The Psychedelic Furs' performance of "The Ghost In You" and I hope there will be more videos from that night and the next three concerts. I want to hear the new songs so bad and I have a feeling they will be awesome live.

9/20/2021 Update: On YouTube someone uploaded the entire concert from Chicago (in four parts) and I watched the videos. The live versions of the songs from Made Of Rain were absolutely amazing, and I actually cried during "You'll Be Mine", "No-One", and "Ash Wednesday". I really hope I will hear those songs live in person someday, hopefully next year. <3

UK Tour Update

Today The Psychedelic Furs came out with an announcement that due to safety concerns and the issues with international travel at the moment they sadly made the difficult decision to postpone the British tour this year, and the dates are now being rescheduled for April 2022. I never expected that would happen at all, and I feel sorry for the band and for the UK fans who have been waiting for so long.

But on the bright side, The Furs are still going to tour in North America and the Made Of Rain Tour officially begins tomorrow at last! Since the UK tour is postponed, they will only do four dates this month, but the tour will resume in October through November.

Unfortunately there are no West Coast dates so I'm unable to see them but honestly I'm not disappointed. Mainly I am so happy for The Psychedelic Furs because they can finally go out on the road and perform the new songs live. I can't wait to find out what the setlists will be and hopefully there will be new videos up on YouTube. The songs I want The Furs to play from Made Of Rain are "No-One", "You'll Be Mine", "Don't Believe", "Ash Wednesday", "Turn Your Back On Me", and "Stars". At least I got to hear "The Boy That Invented Rock & Roll" when I last saw them two years ago.

To The Psychedelic Furs and to the fans who are going to be part of the US tour, hope you all have an awesome time and enjoy every minute of it!

Made Of Rain Ad

Here is an advertisement I found for Made Of Rain. At the time this advert came out it showed the date for the Royal Albert Hall which was on April 27th, 2021 (Originally the Royal Albert Hall concert was supposed to happen in May last year but unfortunately it didn't due to the pandemic) but later it got changed and is now set for next month. [9/14/2021 Update: The UK dates for the Made Of Rain Tour got postponed once again and they are rescheduled for next year. The Royal Albert Hall gig will now take place on April 5, 2022.]

My Thoughts on Evergreen: The Brand New Song

Two days ago The Psychedelic Furs posted on their social media that they were going to announce something important on September 1st, and I got excited and wondered what it would be. Well, today's the big day and The Furs revealed a new song! It is called "Evergreen" and the music was written by former drummer Paul Garisto (with lyrics by Richard Butler). I am currently listening to this song over and over as I write this and... Wow. It is absolutely awesome!! There are three things that entered my mind about the song; the first is that Rich Good's guitar work on "Evergreen" is just beautiful. He's such an incredible guitarist and the way he plays on this song really leaves me in awe, it gives me chills. The second thing is, once again, Richard Butler's vocals are fantastic! I can't believe his vocals sound so good. And the third thing is that Paul Garisto is an amazing composer. On Made Of Rain he composed the songs "Ash Wednesday" and "Turn Your Back On Me" (and also "Don't Believe" along with Tim Butler and Rich Good) and they are brilliant. Paul did a great job writing the music for those songs and "Evergreen". Another thing I want to say about "Evergreen" is that I really, really love the choruses. When The Psychedelic Furs go out on tour this month I wonder if they will play this song.

With me the only little downside is that "Evergreen" is only available as a digital download, and I hope with all my heart that this song will appear on The Furs' upcoming new album in the future. It would be cool if that happens.

This is a great way to start the month of September and thank you to The Psychedelic Furs for this wonderful song. You all did a fantastic job with it!

Update: I heard that "Evergreen" was recorded during the Made Of Rain sessions, so that means Paul Garisto was still in The Furs while the recording happened.
