Top 7 Psychedelic Furs Concerts

It's been two years since I wrote a list of my top 5 Psychedelic Furs concerts and I feel like I need to update my list after attending two more concerts in 2024 and 2025. With The Furs going to start the 2026 tour this month I want to relive the memories of those concerts I've been to. I'm missing them a lot right now and I'm hoping with all my heart they will return to Portland this year.

As stated before on the old list (which has now been deleted), all of these concerts took place in Oregon so I won't bother mentioning it on every ranking, just only the cities. And each ranking will be highlighted in purple and if you click on it, it will take you to my blog about that particular concert if you would like to read it.

So let's begin, here are my top 7 favorite Psychedelic Furs concerts!

7. Revolution Hall, Portland July 22, 2017

This concert was great but the only downside was being in the balcony instead of the front row. However, the most memorable part of that night was a moment that occurred after the show, and even after all these years I still can't believe that happened.

6. Crystal Ballroom, Portland September 2, 2015

This was the first concert I ever went to and seeing The Furs for the first time was so exciting. I wish I can go back and experience it all over again. It was total magic. It's hard to believe this concert is from 11 years ago. What happened to the time? It flew by so quickly.

5. Silva Concert Hall, Eugene October 2, 2023

This concert... I both have happy and sad feelings when I think about this show. The happy part is this was my first Psychedelic Furs concert in four years and it felt so good to see them again. It was also my first time seeing Zachary Alford on the drums after former drummer Paul Garisto left, and getting to hear some of the songs from Made Of Rain was incredible. The sad part is it was my last time seeing saxophonist Mars Williams perform with The Furs. What happened after was hard. Unfortunately there's a part in my blog for this concert that didn't age well and it just breaks my heart....

4. Crystal Ballroom, Portland August 1, 2019

This was a great concert and it was nice to be in the front row again after sitting in the balcony at the Revolution Hall two years prior. My favorite moment about that night was when guitarist Rich Good recognized me during the show. <3

3. Crystal Ballroom, Portland October 30, 2024

So with this and the next two concerts they are my absolute favorites because there were so many wonderful memories and moments. This concert was amazing and I got to see Rich Good; believe it or not, it was my first time meeting him in seven years. With the 2019 and 2023 concerts my brother and I left right away when those shows ended because he had to go to work in the morning, which was understandable, but I'm one of those people who love to stay a little bit at the venue after concerts so I can't help feeling the regrets of not being able to visit Rich at those two shows. But seeing him again after all those years was really great. <3

2. Crystal Ballroom, Portland September 16, 2025

This concert was fantastic and the setlist for this show is my favorite out of all the concerts I attended. The night was so special to me for many reasons and I will never forget it. Whenever I think about that night it always brings a smile to my face. <3

1. Revolution Hall, Portland July 26, 2016

Not only is this my favorite Psychedelic Furs concert but it is my favorite concert ever of all time. There was no barrier so I was up against the stage and it was amazing seeing the band up close and personal. Also I met Rich Good for the very first time and there were other wonderful moments that happened during the concert as well.

About the tour coming up I can't wait to see what the setlist will be like and I wonder if Richard Fortus or Peter DiStefano will join The Psychedelic Furs again. I wish the band safe travels and I hope they will have fun touring!

Top 8 Psychedelic Furs Albums (New Update)

The last time I wrote out my list of my favorite Psychedelic Furs albums was back in 2022, and now the time has come for me to update it (again). I think this will be my fourth time updating my list, and the reason why is because now a certain album of theirs is in the number one spot. My other favorites still remain the same in their ranking though.

Before I begin I just want to remind you all: This is MY OWN personal ranking so please be respectful about my choices. I am not here to pander to everyone but to share the albums that mean to me the most. The reason why I'm bringing this up is because a year ago on The Psychedelic Furs Facebook fan page I reshared my blog of my top 10 favorite PFurs songs (written in 2021), and unfortunately I got comments from whiny fans who complained that their favorite song wasn't on my list. It made me very annoyed, so I don't want to see that type of behavior with this new album update.

Anyway, let's get started. Here are my top 8 favorite Psychedelic Furs albums!

8. World Outside (1991)

It's hard to believe that for many years, from 1991 to 2019, World Outside used to be the last Psychedelic Furs album but thankfully it isn't anymore. What I love about World Outside is that it was produced by Stephen Street (along with The Furs) and he is my favorite producer. He had worked with a few artists I really like, such as The Smiths, Morrissey, and The Cranberries. The first time Stephen got involved with The Psychedelic Furs was in 1988 when he produced the single "All That Money Wants".

7. Talk Talk Talk (1981)

Talk Talk Talk is vocalist Richard Butler's favorite PFurs album and bassist Tim Butler's second favorite. Talk Talk Talk is hailed as a masterpiece by fans and critics and over a decade ago The Furs did a special 30th anniversary tour for the album and performed it in its entirety (and also the other hit songs/fan favorites). I know all of you will disagree with me for putting Talk Talk Talk low on my list, but I want to be clear that I love this album; I just like the others more.

6. The Psychedelic Furs (1980)

Even though Talk Talk Talk was an improvement from The Psychedelic Furs songwriting/melody wise I have to say, in my own opinion, it doesn't have the same magic the first album has. I think what makes the debut so unique is back when it was recorded, The Furs barely knew how to properly play their instruments and they all wanted to be heard at the same time, creating this sound that's famously described as "beautiful chaos"; and Steve Lillywhite, producer of the first two albums, wanted The Psychedelic Furs to sound like a really good live concert of theirs. The music is full of mystery, weirdness, and ambition, and it shows you who The Psychedelic Furs were all about at the time.

5. Mirror Moves (1984)

My mom used to have this album on cassette when she was a teenager and played it all the time. Mirror Moves is in my top 5 and it is indeed a fantastic album. The music, the lyrics, the production, everything about it. 4. Midnight To Midnight (1987)

Midnight To Midnight isn't a favorite with The Furs and some of the fans but I love it so much. Midnight has a special place in my heart because I got it three days before I first saw The Psychedelic Furs live in 2015. The album takes me back to that time and it holds a lot of very fond memories for me. I have to say the Midnight To Midnight period is my favorite Psychedelic Furs era, mainly because I have a weak spot for those type of punk rock looking clothes the band wore, even though they didn't like it.

3. Book Of Days (1989)

Compared to its predecessor Midnight To Midnight Book Of Days was a return to how The Psychedelic Furs used to be, and the music on the album is much more heavier with a darker tone to it. I remember when I got Book Of Days in 2016 I liked it but I felt it wasn't as good as their other albums. Then later after listening to it more, I started to love it, and it made me realize how awesome the music was. I really love the music on Book Of Days and it's the reason why this album is in third place.

Here we are at number two and it makes me sad for putting this album in second place because it had been my favorite Psychedelic Furs album for a long time. I still love this album very much, but recently I've come to the realization that the other one would become my favorite and take this album's place. Second place is....

2. Forever Now (1982)

Like I said, I still love Forever Now dearly and there are some things that stand out to me about this amazing album. The excellent production by Todd Rundgren, the backing vocals by Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan (Flo and Eddie), the addition of different instruments like the cello, synthesizer, and marimba, and how The Furs changed their sound to a whole new level. Tim Butler has stated in many interviews that Forever Now is his favorite PFurs album.

And now, the grand finale, my number one favorite Psychedelic Furs album of all time.

1. Made Of Rain (2020)

In late 2020, Made Of Rain was my third favorite PFurs album. Then in 2022, it became my second favorite, and now in 2024, my number one. I love this album so much, and even after four years I still can't get over how good Made Of Rain is. The record is one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard and it's truly a work of art for me. It makes me glad The Psychedelic Furs took their time making this album and not rushing it out just to please everyone. The real reason why it took many years for a new PFurs album to come out is because the band was worried that it wouldn't stand up to the previous albums and would receive backlash from the critics and fans. When Made Of Rain was released it thankfully got good reviews and the magazine Vive Le Rock! named it their album of the year.

Congratulations to Made Of Rain for reaching number one, for becoming my favorite Psychedelic Furs album. Maybe my favorite album of all time ever??? Only time will tell...

Top 10 Album Covers

Back in 2019 I published a top 10 ranking of my favorite Psychedelic Furs album covers and recently I thought of redoing this list again. On the first one I did, I ranked the first seven albums, the US covers for The Psychedelic Furs and Forever Now, and the compilation All Of This And Nothing. Now that Made Of Rain is here, it will replace All Of This And Nothing but the two US album covers will still be on the updated list.

Here are my top 10 favorite covers of The Psychedelic Furs' albums!

10. USA artwork for Forever Now

I like this one with the pictures of the band members but to me it's not as memorable as the other album covers. Long story short, Columbia (The Furs' US label) used this artwork for the North American release of Forever Now because they didn't like the original. They designed it without The Psychedelic Furs' permission, and when the band first saw the finished product they hated the look of it. The cover art looks like it's trying to imitate the one for Talk Talk Talk. Fun fact: the US artwork was actually used for Forever Now's release over in Spain.

9. Book Of Days

This artwork represents the return of The Psychedelic Furs, and when I say return, I mean back to how they used to be. They went back to their original roots after Midnight To Midnight, and stopped wearing the black clothes and leather jackets. Also the music on Book Of Days is more heavier and darker than the lighthearted, synthesized pop rock of its predecessor.

8. World Outside

World Outside is the first Psychedelic Furs album that doesn't feature the band members on the cover. The artwork is surrounded by nature, and with the look of it I like to imagine that it's a hot late Summer day, with a hint of a cool breeze blowing through.

7. Made Of Rain

The cover art for Made Of Rain perfectly captures the feel of the songs from the album and to me it looks like a mix of classical and modern art. The artwork was designed by Kevin Grady, a friend of vocalist Richard Butler. According to Richard, he saw the image of that statue on Kevin's Facebook page and really liked it. Richard then contacted Kevin and asked for his permission to use that photo for Made Of Rain's album cover.

6. USA artwork for The Psychedelic Furs

Forever Now wasn't the only album that got its artwork changed. It happened with the first LP and of course, it was designed by Columbia. This cover art is less offensive than the one for Forever Now though, and it managed to keep that Psychedelic Furs feel. The black and green colors go good together with the picture of the band.

5. The Psychedelic Furs (original artwork)

The original artwork for the debut also came in orange and green colors but the "pretty in pink" one is my favorite. I love the mysterious, shadowy look of the album cover and it gives off a beautifully chaotic vibe (see what I did there?).

4. Talk Talk Talk

The album cover for Talk Talk Talk was inspired by the art of Andy Warhol and it is such a classic cover. One of the best of all time. I really like the photo of Richard Butler on it. That's a great photo of him.

3. Forever Now (original artwork)

The original cover art for Forever Now, designed by Barney Bubbles, is just fantastic and I don't understand why Columbia rejected it. I love the green and pink colors, the album and band names written in stars, and the photo that was taken by Graeme Attwood during the video shoot for "Love My Way."

2. Midnight To Midnight

I absolutely adore this album cover for Midnight To Midnight. I know Richard Butler, former guitarist John Ashton, and bassist Tim Butler didn't like wearing those type of punk rock looking outfits and having their hair all gelled up, but I think they looked really great and I have a weak spot for those type of clothes. The Midnight era is my favorite Psychedelic Furs era.

And now, here's my number one favorite album cover...

1. Mirror Moves

The Mirror Moves album cover is just iconic. The photo of Richard Butler (taken by Brian Griffin), the stars, and the purple checkered background are the reasons why this takes the number one spot. And it has that glorious '80s look of it, too. The cover art was a tribute to the work of Barney Bubbles, who unfortunately passed away in 1983.

Whenever The Psychedelic Furs release their next album, I'm looking forward to see what the album title will be and what the cover art will look like. If I have to update this list again in the future, it will be a top 11 ranking. Hope you enjoyed this post and as always, thank you for reading!

Top 10 PFurs Music Videos

As some of you may remember, back in April of 2020 I made a list of my ten favorite Psychedelic Furs music videos and today I made the decision to redo my list. But surprisingly, my list is very much the same as the first, although a new change had been added. Before, I had thought of making this list again but I've never gotten around to it, until now. And before I start I just want to say that these are my own personal opinions and the videos I selected are ones that stand out to me the most.

And now, let's begin. Here are my top 10 favorite music videos by The Psychedelic Furs!

10. The Ghost In You - Director: Tim Pope https://youtube.com/watch?v=T87u5yuUVi8

During the verses Richard Butler sings into one of those types of mirrors that appear in dressing rooms, and when the choruses come on Richard, John Ashton and Tim Butler perform while all of these colored glass bubbles move around them. I love Richard's dancing in "The Ghost In You", it's really great. Surprisingly the "Ghost In You" video wasn't included at all in the All Of This And Nothing video compilation on VHS. You'd think it would be on there and I wonder why it got left out.

The shots of Richard Butler standing on the giant clock are my favorite moments in the video for "Until She Comes". It also shows the band members in a blue room with circles of flashing lights peering through and things like an hourglass, a starfish, etc.

"All That Money Wants" marked the return of original drummer Vince Ely, who had left The Furs six years earlier after when Forever Now came out. The video shows Vince, John Ashton and Tim Butler walking around while Richard Butler sings to the camera. My favorite part: Richard's little smile at the end of the video. <3

7. Angels Don't Cry - Director: Tim Pope https://youtube.com/watch?v=XU65Y4gTUYo

What I like about this one is that it was all filmed in one take. Richard, Tim, and John perform on a set that has a bunch of light bulbs and later when the instrumental part starts playing Richard walks away and enters into a different set. As he goes in you see Mars Williams doing the magical saxophone solo and the rest of the band members join Richard.

The video for "Run And Run" was filmed in New York City while The Psychedelic Furs were in America during the Forever Now tour. It shows the band members signing autographs for fans at a record store, sightseeing, hanging around, and having fun. During that time the "Sleep Comes Down" video was also made, as "Run And Run" featured behind the scenes footage for that particular video.

Here is something interesting. The video for "Sleep Comes Down" actually used to be on my old ranking (at number 10), but after watching the video for "Wrong Train", I like it better than "Sleep Comes Down"! And "Wrong Train" made it at number 5, and you can probably tell why it's high on my new list. The video is absolutely awesome, it's so well made and Hans did a remarkable job directing it. Richard Butler looks fantastic and the look of the video was inspired by Richard's own paintings.

The "Heaven" video is beautiful, with Richard looking angelic as he spins around while Tim and John look like they're having a blast in the rain. It is mesmerizing to watch. This is Richard Butler's favorite PFurs music video but unfortunately after the video was filmed he caught a cold from being wet for so many hours.

This video is cool with all the scenes of the flowers blooming and Richard Butler spinning in the whatchamacallit. With the flowers in the video, I like to imagine that this would be the type of music video The Smiths would probably make.

2. Sister Europe - Directors: Don Letts, Mick Calvert https://youtube.com/watch?v=-R96oxrDHWs

There's something about this video that appeals to me, and even though it's simple, it is so effective. It's dark, mysterious, and the sound of the music matches the look of the video. I read that the band members were actually drunk during filming, and even on a few scenes, you can tell that Richard Butler's movements looked a little off. But still, the video for "Sister Europe" is great and I also want to say I like the very old quality on the vid.

We are now at the grand finale, and here is my number one favorite Psychedelic Furs music video of all time!

The video for "Love My Way" is just magnificent. It has beauty, elegance, and the visuals are absolutely stunning. This video was played heavily on MTV and it helped The Psychedelic Furs gain popularity in the United States. My dad remembers watching the "Love My Way" video, and he once told me that he thought it was weird but liked it at the same time. Like I said on the "Sister Europe" video it is simple but so effective, and it leaves you in awe. My favorite music videos are a tie between The Psychedelic Furs' "Love My Way" and Green Day's "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams", because they have their own style and I love them both for different reasons.

I think what makes The Psychedelic Furs' music videos great is the one and only Richard Butler himself, with his aura and presence, the way he dances on the videos, and his iconic voice. While watching the videos it made me think how awesome and wonderful Richard is, and there is no one like him. I am very glad I had the opportunity to see Richard Butler live in person four times with my own eyes, and those experiences were so amazing. I do hope I will see him and the rest of the band again someday.

Top 10 Psychedelic Furs Songs

It has been four months since I posted the list of my top 8 Psychedelic Furs albums and today I am back with another ranking, with this one being songs this time. Back in 2018 I did a top 10 songs list and it used to be on this blog, but I had deleted it because it was old and my opinions had changed over the years. On this post it's exactly the same as the previous one, although a few changes were made. I had been looking forward to doing this, because since Made Of Rain has been out for a while now I wondered if any of its songs would appear on my ranking.

So let's get started, here are my top 10 favorite songs by The Psychedelic Furs!

10. You'll Be Mine [from Made Of Rain (2020)]

I'll never forget the first time I heard "You'll Be Mine", because it came out when the whole world changed and I felt worried about what would happen with the tour that The Psychedelic Furs were supposed to do last year. But after listening to the song many times, I felt like it was giving me hope in some way. The music on "You'll Be Mine" is just breathtakingly beautiful, and vocalist Richard Butler's voice is so crystal clear and powerful. The Furs are going to tour in the UK this September and October, and I hope with all my heart it will really happen. I want this for the band so much because they deserve it after all the waiting they had to endure...

9. Dumb Waiters [from Talk Talk Talk (1981)]

The first track (or fourth for the USA version) on The Psychedelic Furs' second album is such a great opener, and the music is so energetic, catchy, and fun, I love it. It's always been one of my favorites for years. The saxophone is one of the best parts on "Dumb Waiters" and the guitar solo at the end was former guitarist John Ashton's favorite solo, according to his profile from the tour programme for Midnight To Midnight.

When Richard Butler was interviewed by Melody Maker in 1988, he said that back when "Dumb Waiters" came out people thought it was corny and a reviewer for some music magazine said that it was one of the worst songs ever. How?? Why?? I don't know what those people were thinking, because "Dumb Waiters" is truly a fantastic song.

8. Shock [from Midnight To Midnight (1987)]

Every time this song comes on I always turn the volume up, and it's one of those songs where they instantly put you in a good mood. The music pumps you up and makes you want to dance like crazy. "Shock" is absolutely awesome and it's now my favorite song on Midnight To Midnight (it used to be the title track). Saxophonist Mars Williams is one of the highlights on "Shock" and he creates this magical sound. I can imagine silver sparkles or glittering rainbows coming out of the saxophone.

7. Love My Way [from Forever Now (1982)]

A true PFurs classic. 14 years ago I remember listening to "Love My Way" for the first time and the song got me immediately hooked, especially with the music. It's interesting to think that back then I never knew I would eventually become a fan seven years later, would see The Furs live four times, would meet guitarist Rich Good twice, and would give them my letter. The Psychedelic Furs had changed my life and out of all the bands I like, The Furs are the only band that helped me in so many ways.

"Love My Way" is a gorgeous pop song and there's a lot of memorable moments on it. It's a shame that it only peaked in the top 50 in Britain. I don't understand why it didn't become a huge hit over there.

6. There's A World [from World Outside (1991)]

I remember putting "There's A World" in 10th place on my old list but the song kept climbing higher and made it to number 6. It's one of the most beautiful songs ever, and the music on the choruses has an atmospheric feel to it. It sounds like you're up in space and you're looking down on Earth, questioning everything about yourself and the whole world, while trying to find the answers. When I first saw The Psychedelic Furs in 2015 they played "There's A World" and I remember getting kind of emotional.

5. Highwire Days [from Mirror Moves (1984)]

"Highwire Days" is one of The Psychedelic Furs' songs that are huge fan favorites and if you listen to it, you can hear why it's so beloved. "Highwire Days" is one of Richard Butler's favorite songs to perform live and is one of John Ashton's finest achievements (he wrote the music for the song, with lyrics by Richard). The song is a work of art with the keyboards swirling around and Richard Butler's vocals are magnificent. One of The Psychedelic Furs' masterpieces. The web address for my blog is called "On Tomorrow's Pages" and it's a line borrowed from "Highwire Days".

4. I Don't Want To Be Your Shadow [B-side, 1982]

"I Don't Want To Be Your Shadow" was a b-side on the UK single of "Danger" and in 1994 was included on the PFurs b-side/remix compilation album B-sides And Lost Grooves. In 2002 it appeared again as a bonus track on the Forever Now remaster, and after listening to the song on my copy, it made me wish it was an official track on Forever Now. The ending to "I Don't Want To Be Your Shadow" is my favorite part of the whole song and the music's just brilliant.

3. Shine [from Book Of Days (1989)]

"Shine" actually used to be my second favorite Psychedelic Furs song and even though it went down to the third spot, I still love it a lot. The song is so beautiful and the lyrics are one of Richard Butler's finest. I love the sound of Tim Butler's bass guitar, and the music makes me think of the sunlight coming through the golden leaves of the autumn trees. 

2. Run And Run [from Forever Now (1982)]

Via Discogs.

For six years "Run And Run" was my number one favorite Psychedelic Furs song and putting it at number two is a huge surprise to me; and kind of sad in a way, like saying goodbye to an old friend. I never thought that day would come, but nowadays there's one song that's settling comfortably in first place and we will get to that in a minute.

About "Run And Run", the choruses are so amazing (especially the backing vocals by Flo and Eddie) and the fun, epic music is what makes the song great. During the years when "Run And Run" used to be my favorite song I wanted to hear it live, and in October 2014 The Psychedelic Furs performed that song when they were in Portland, Oregon at the Aladdin Theater. But... that was a month before I started to get into The Furs and I wished I became a fan much earlier so that I could hear "Run And Run".

Finally here we are at number one and so far what do you all think which song is my favorite now? I'm proud to present, my number one favorite Psychedelic Furs song of all time! And I'm warning you that I'm going to go in fangirl mode while talking about the song. Well, here it is........

1. No-One [from Made Of Rain (2020)]

Okay, I don't know if I'm right or wrong on this but... could this be the most perfect song The Psychedelic Furs ever made? Everything about "No-One" is perfection. I'm still in awe about how awesome this song is and I'm actually filled with emotion thinking about it while typing this out. What I love about "No-One" is it has a Book Of Days vibe to it, and "No-One" sounds like it could be a song from that album. Richard Butler's singing is absolutely fantastic on this and I can't believe how good he sounds. The music is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, and it makes me tear up sometimes because it's so powerful. Rich Good wrote the music for "No-One" and I wonder how he came up with writing it and what the inspiration was behind the music. His guitar playing is top notch and has this pure, crystalline sound. Rich deserves all the praise for writing the music in "No-One" and, if you are reading this Rich, I just want to say you did an amazing job with the music and by listening I can tell it has a lot of heart and soul put into it. Thank you. <3

Top 10 Single Covers

I was meant to start writing this post a month ago but it got delayed because I was busy doing the birthday posts for John Ashton and Tim Butler; plus I had been feeling a little under the weather and so my heart wasn't in the mood to write. But thankfully this post is finally here and it is another top 10 list. This time it's going to be my favorite single artwork from The Psychedelic Furs ranked in order. This covers the 7", 12", and CD single formats but on my list promos and reissues don't count. It has to be the original versions of those singles.

So let's get right to it, here are my top 10 favorite Psychedelic Furs single covers!





10. Heartbreak Beat - UK 7"

This has one of my favorite photos of The Psychedelic Furs and I just had to include it on this list. I have a soft spot for those clothes that Richard Butler, John Ashton, and Tim Butler wore and they just looked so awesome and good looking. "Heartbreak Beat" was released a year before Midnight To Midnight came out and it became The Furs' first hit song in the United States, where it peaked at #26.

9. Danger - UK single

The artwork for "Danger" totally screams '80s but in a good way, and the wild and zany shapes and colors match the energy of the song. When I look at the cover art it makes me think of 1980s/1990s board games where they have those types of shapes and colors on the boxes.

8. House - UK 12"

For some reason I just like the look of this. The picture is black and white with what looks like a bunch of sunflowers and it creates a somber, mellow, and calm vibe to it. That's how I view it, but it is indeed a beautiful picture.

7. All That Money Wants - CD single

I like how the photos of Richard Butler and Vince Ely are in their silhouettes and it's a great visual effect. This photo was on the back of the UK 12" sleeve while the front had John Ashton and Tim Butler. I think the Richard and Vince photo was on the front of the American 12" single as well.

6. We Love You - UK single

This artwork for The Psychedelic Furs' debut single is simple but the design is really cool. The sleeve also came in yellow and green colors but for me the "pretty in pink" one is my favorite. On the back of the sleeve it says "The Psychedelic Furs are beautiful chaos." What a great way to introduce a band.

5. Angels Don't Cry - UK 12"

This cover art was only for the New York Mix of the "Angels Don't Cry" 12" single. The original 7" single just has the band's name and song title while the 12" has a very great photo of Richard Butler. In fact, this photo is in the programme for the Midnight To Midnight tour.

4. Love My Way - UK 7" (Gatefold sleeve)

The perfect cover art for a perfect song. There are three different picture sleeves for the British single of "Love My Way." The 12" single has the band members on the front, the standard 7" has Richard and Tim Butler, and the 7" gatefold single (this one) has a lovely photo of Richard.

3. Heartbeat - UK 7"

I love the photo of Richard, John and Tim, the blue and purple colors, and the design of the cover art for "Heartbeat." The 12" single for "Heartbeat" had the airplane and stars on it (which was used for the Mirror Moves tour) and the band's photos are on the far right of the sleeve but in a smaller size. Here's a fun fact: A few years ago The Psychedelic Furs brought back that same airplane symbol for the 2016 tour. I have the t-shirt that has the symbol on it and it's so cool. Also the shirt is a great reminder of how wonderful the 2016 tour was, and I'm so lucky I was a part of it.

2. Heaven - Japanese 7"

What I really love about Japanese vinyl records is that they look like a lot of care was put into them. The sleeves are beautiful to look at and the records are known to have an awesome sound quality. The Japanese picture sleeve for "Heaven" is just absolutely gorgeous, and there is something magical about it. I love the stars on the cover and the picture of the band is great. It's interesting how The Furs' record label over in Japan was Epic, which you can see on the sleeve.





And now, my number one favorite is....

1. The Ghost In You - Japanese 7"

Another Japanese one! Like with the "Heaven" cover, this one is very gorgeous too. The Japanese text is so beautiful on this, and I just love the pictures of the band members, especially the one of Richard Butler. I was torn between this one and "Heaven" because they are both really beautiful but the sleeve for "The Ghost In You" takes my number one spot.
