Thinking of John Ashton

Today when I looked at The Psychedelic Furs' Twitter they posted a link and wrote "For John." I clicked on the link and it was a GoFundMe page for John Ashton. It was created by Gail Ann Dorsey (former David Bowie bassist and a close friend of John's) to help him and his family, because Gail wrote that sadly a couple months ago John was diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer, and it had spread to his lymph nodes. I was shocked and saddened hearing the news and my thoughts and prayers go out to him. We all love you John Ashton and I hope you will get all the help and recovery you need.

If you would like to help John Ashton and his family here is the link to the GoFundMe page. https://www.gofundme.com/f/rn6gr6-xxxxx?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link_all&utm_source=customer

We Love You Advert

Here's an advertisement I found for The Psychedelic Furs' debut single "We Love You" from 1979. I like the way the ad spells the word "first".

Furs on the Radio

I don't really listen to the radio but whenever I do, it seems that the local stations here in Oregon never play The Psychedelic Furs. I've been wanting them to play one of The Furs' songs but it always never happens. You would think since the band is a little popular in the US the radio stations would play their songs. Well, something miraculous happened last night. I was riding in the car with my mom listening to the radio and we went through the stations, trying to find a song we like. As my mom went on some station a song started playing and I instantly recognized it. Could it be? It is! To my absolute surprise, the station was actually playing "Pretty In Pink", the original from Talk Talk Talk! I was super ecstatic, I couldn't believe it. The radio finally played a Psychedelic Furs song! After going through that awesome experience I just have to come on here to talk about it.

"And nobody don't dance
On the edge of the dark
We've got the radio on"
