Mirror Moves Ad

An ad for The Psychedelic Furs' fourth album Mirror Moves appeared in an American magazine (maybe Billboard?) in 1984. Here's some great information: 10 years after Mirror Moves' release, the album sold 500,000 copies in the US and was certified Gold.

6/27/19 Update: I found another US ad for Mirror Moves (via The Psychedelic Furs' official Facebook) and it's sort of the same as the one pictured above but different. On this ad it listed the success of Mirror Moves and its singles "The Ghost In You" and "Heartbeat" and it also mentioned the Mirror Moves Tour.

Psychedelic Visit

This photo was taken from American magazine Billboard in 1983 while The Psychedelic Furs were touring for the Forever Now album. The photo featured former Birthday Party member Phill Calvert who became The Furs' drummer for a short time during the tour.

The text under the photo says: "Prior to a performance at Duke University, British group The Psychedelic Furs made an appearance [at] Durham's Northgate Mall Record Bar. Pictured from left are group members Tim Butler, Phillip Calvert, Richard Butler and John Ashton."

"Heaven Sent"

On this day in 1984 Richard Butler appeared on the cover of UK music magazine Melody Maker. This was during when The Psychedelic Furs' song "Heaven" became a top 30 hit in the British charts.
